A slim wafer of gorgeously rich chocolate made of the cocoa of the reknowned Esmeraldas province of Ecuador. This is a specailty chocolate made in Quito, Ecuador, by our source Conexion Chocolates. The garnish is a blend of house-made candied citrus, market oranges and blood oranges, Meyer lemons from friends' gardens, a bit of kumquat also.
These are designed to be shared with friends and family, small bites that are easily arranged on a buffet or dessert tray. They are packaged in an a classic European box for gifting.
What is a mendiant? A chocolate mendiant is a confection that tradtionally reflects the colors of the Mendicant Order, or a coin for a beggar. In the French language, the word means beggar or a memeber of Mendicant Order of Catholicism.
