SPRING SEASON
We have arrived at spring. This heat wave is incredible. It has been so hot, and air conditioning so rare, that my Easter production is delayed several days. so goes chocolatier life.
do you associate, as most of us do, cool weather with chocolate? Chocolate is a European invention from the mid 19th century. cool weather was required for making chocolate before air conditioning was invented. The seasons and holidays we still associate with chocolate are from the fall to easter. cool hugh?

Easter Bunnies, or in this case, hares, cast by hand by me with molds from the 1920s made in Germany by skilled artisans in metal work. These molds, and the chocolate casts, are treasures of romance and nostalgia.
I have named them Mary and Burt.

Pâte de Fruit, available now are two flavors, strawberry with sparkling wine and pomegranate juice with cardamom. My source for these fruits are Ortiz Berries of Salinas, and K&J farms for pomegranate juice. Come by my market for a taste.
